Hena Nafis is a leading Clinical & Motivational Nutritionist & Lifestyle Consultant who consults people and has been practising since 2004. She has been tested by time, tested by people. Since 2008, she has been a regular Nutrition Columnist at t2 – The Telegraph and has also contributed to Calcutta Times, published by Times of India. Over the past 14 years, Hena Nafis has provided care to a vast number of customers from across the globe.

She founded Nutrience – a Nutrition Lifestyle Clinic in 2007, where she provides health solutions beyond the diet chart to help people make behavioural changes in their lifestyle. She emphasises that without behavioural change, a diet plan alone is ineffective. She partners with the clients in transforming lives by building good healthy habits to build on. She handholds them to build a healthy body and healthy mind based on 4 pillars of healthy living – nutrition, physical activity, sleep and stress management/mood. She firmly believes in Eating Smart over Eating Right.

In order to deliver a comprehensive all-round package, Hena Nafis also started an exclusive health cafe – Eat Good Food, as she believes to stay healthy, you must nourish your body with the right choices.

She also specialises in Kid’s Nutrition. So, the next time your child throws a fit, bring them along. She will work out a plan that will work for them. She also runs special programmes for schools so that the children stay fitter and proactive. She conducts workshops and sets up kids’ fitness gyms and even curates canteen meals so that they eat healthy nutritious food.

Your health is yours. Only yours. Which is why what being good for the geese is not good for the gander. And apples cannot be compared to oranges.

Public Health & Community Participation

In the tenth year of her nutrition consultancy, Hena Nafis was struck by the urgency of a pressing issue in Kolkata— the eating habits of children living in slums. Her team’s survey of 1,100 children across areas like Topsia, Tollygunge, Park Circus, and Kidderpore revealed a dire situation of many children surviving on junk food, with little to no milk, fruits, or vegetables in their diet.

Rather than dismissing the findings, Hena took action. In November 2017, she launched the Milk’ n Fruit Programme near Park Circus Railway Station in collaboration with Tiljala SHED NGO . The initiative, which is funded by donations and volunteer efforts, provides 50 slum children a full glass of milk and fruit daily, addressing their nutritional gaps. The programme also includes educational sessions on healthy eating habits and regular health check-ups to monitor the children’s progress.

Despite initial concerns that children did not like milk & fruits and were going to waste, the results were miraculous. In just three months, children showed an average height gain of 1.6 inches and a weight gain of 0.92 kg, far exceeding normal growth expectations. This success story is a testament to the potential impact of your support.
This evidence proved that proper nutrition, combining calcium from milk and vitamins from fruit, could dramatically boost growth and health in malnourished children.

With a modest monthly budget of just Rs 16,000, Hena’s initiative has already transformed 54 children’s lives. This affordability underscores the significant impact even a small contribution can make. Hena’s next goal is to expand this programme across more Kolkata neighbourhoods, potentially improving the health of many more children.
